  1.                   Welcome to MAIL MANAGER for RBBS-PC!
  2.  
  3. MAIN MENU commands are single letter "Turbo-Keys" (don't press [ENTER]
  4. afterwards), and are as follows:
  5.  
  6.    C - Configure.
  7.  
  8.        Permits you to tailor Mail Manager's operation to suit your
  9.        preferences.  Options available are:
  10.  
  11.        A) Select the conferences from which you would like to extract
  12.           messages.
  13.  
  14.           Please note that you must first J)oin a conference from the
  15.           BBS before you can extract mail from it via this door.
  16.  
  17.        B) Format of downloaded mail packets (Text or QWK).
  18.  
  19.           Set to TEXT if you want to use Mail Manager as a simple
  20.           "extract and download" system (all messages in a single
  21.           continuous ASCII file).
  22.  
  23.           Set to QWK if you want to read and reply offline using a
  24.           QWK-compatible mail reader like SLMR.
  25.  
  26.        C) Do you want messages addressed to "ALL" marked as personal in
  27.           your QWK packets?
  28.  
  29.           If set to "Y", Mail Manager will add messages addressed to
  30.           "ALL" to your QWK packet personal index.
  31.  
  32.        D) Do you want to extract ONLY your personal mail?
  33.  
  34.           If set to "Y", Mail Manager will not extract a message unless
  35.           it is addressed to you.  (Will also extract messages to "ALL"
  36.           if you have option C set to "Y".)
  37.  
  38.        E) Do you want to extract messages written by you?
  39.  
  40.           If set to "NO", Mail Manager will not include messages from
  41.           you in your packet.
  42.  
  43.        F) Do you want to abort the download if no new messages are
  44.           found?
  45.  
  46.           You might not want to do this if you would still like to
  47.           receive new file listings or updated system news or bulletins.
  48.  
  49.        G) Do you want to have updated bulletins included in your packet?
  50.  
  51.           If set to "Y" all bulletins newer than your previous logon
  52.           date for this BBS will be included in your mail packet.
  53.  
  54.           If set to "N", any updated bulletins which the sysop has
  55.           designated as mandatory will still be included.
  56.  
  57.        H) Do you want new file listings included in your packet?
  58.  
  59.           If you select this option, a listing of newly-uploaded files
  60.           will be included in your mail packet.
  61.  
  62.           This option may not be operational on all systems.
  63.  
  64.        I) Do you want to confirm you wish to receive the packet prior
  65.           to the actual download?
  66.  
  67.        J) Which type of file compression do you want to use on your mail
  68.           packet?
  69.  
  70.           You can choose from the file compression utilities offered by
  71.           your sysop (ZIP, ARC, etc.)
  72.  
  73.        K) Which file tranfer protocol do you wish to use?
  74.  
  75.           Choose from the protcols offered by your sysop (Xmodem,
  76.           Zmodem, etc.)
  77.  
  78.        L) Do you want Mail Manager to tell RBBS-PC that you've read the
  79.           mail that you download from this door?
  80.  
  81.           If this is set to NO, both RBBS and Mail Manager will think
  82.           that you haven't read the messages that you've downloaded.
  83.           (Mail Manager will extract them again your next time in).
  84.  
  85.        When you are done configuring, you'll be asked to save your
  86.        current choices.  You MUST answer yes if you want your changes to
  87.        be saved for subsequent visits to the Mail Manager door.
  88.  
  89.    D - Download new mail.
  90.  
  91.        Will find and extract all new mail from your selected conferences,
  92.        in the format that you told Mail Manager to use (Text or QWK).
  93.  
  94.        Mail Manager will then compress the file(s) using your selected
  95.        compression utility.
  96.  
  97.        Unless your file protocol is set to N)one, Mail Manager will then
  98.        send you the mail packet.  If your default protocol is set to N)one,
  99.        you'll be asked for the transfer protocol of your choice.  If you
  100.        choose "N", the file will not be sent to you, and you'll be
  101.        returned to the main menu.  Otherwise Mail Manager will do its best to
  102.        send a compressed version of the mail to you via your selected
  103.        choice.
  104.  
  105.    E - Exit after download.
  106.  
  107.        Same as Download (above), except automatically exits back to
  108.        the main bulletin board when finished.  
  109.        
  110.    Q - Quit (return to BBS).
  111.  
  112.        This one should be pretty self-explanatory.  May also be
  113.        activated by pressing G.
  114.  
  115.    H - (Or '?') Display this help file.
  116.  
  117.        ... and that's exactly what it does. :-)
  118.  
  119.    M - Message number (lowest) to extract in each conference.
  120.  
  121.        Mail Manager will normally download mail based on the last message
  122.        that you've read in each conference.  Since you can read mail both
  123.        online AND offline, and have the option of telling Mail Manager NOT
  124.        to update your last message read markers, you might want to use
  125.        this option to reset them to what you want. 
  126.  
  127.        Requirement for using this option:
  128.  
  129.            - You must have already joined the conference from the main
  130.              board. (As with all conferences that you manipulate via
  131.              this door).
  132.  
  133.        You may set this by entering a specific message number, an
  134.        increment such as +50 or -25, or by just pressing <Enter> for
  135.        no change.
  136.  
  137.        If you get an error while changing your message markers, try going
  138.        back through the C)onfigure option, saving your settings, and try
  139.        again.
  140.  
  141.    U - Upload your replies.
  142.  
  143.        Works with QWK-compatible mail reader/repliers only. Your uploaded
  144.        file is expected to be compatible with the .REP format used by
  145.        popular mail readers such as SLMR.  Mail Manager will look for the
  146.        REP packet after the upload and attempt to place your replies into
  147.        the proper message bases.
  148.  
  149.        If your default protocol is set to N)one, you'll be asked for the
  150.        protocol that you wish to use.  If you select N)one, you'll be
  151.        returned to the main menu.
  152.  
  153.    W - Who's online?
  154.  
  155.        Displays a list of who's online to all nodes of this RBBS-PC.
  156.        (Much like RBBS's command of the same name).
  157.  
  158.    X - Expert toggle.
  159.  
  160.        Turns the main menu on or off.  (Much like RBBS's command of the
  161.        same name).
